Our Affiliation

Harvest Free Will Baptist Church is a member of the National Association of Free Will Baptists and the Indiana Association of Free Will Baptists.  Free Will Baptist churches enjoy local church autonomy (self-governing).  The local church is the highest authority in the denomination.  Local churches voluntarily organize themselves into quarterly meetings, district, state, and national associations for the purpose of promoting the cause of Christ on the local, state, district, national, and world-wide level.

Our Doctrine/Beliefs

The Bible: We Believe that the Bible is the inspired (God breathed) infallible (all true) and inerrant (without error or contradiction) Word of God. It is the supreme and final authority in faith and practice.

One God: We Believe in one true and living God revealed in the Scriptures as eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ: We Believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit and was born of the virgin Mary; that He was fully God and fully man; that He lived a sinless life upon this earth; that He died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of all mankind; that He rose bodily from the grave on the third day; that he ascended bodily into Heaven where He continues His ministry at the right hand of God as our Advocate and High Priest; and that He is literally, personally, visibly returning to this earth to set up His Kingdom, judge all men and fallen spirit beings, and rule and reign for all eternity in the new heaven and earth.

The Holy Spirit: We Believe that the Scriptures assign to the Holy Spirit all the attributes of God; that this present era of the Church is, in a special way, the dispensation of the Holy Spirit; and that his ministry in the world includes reproving, regenerating, indwelling, guiding and empowering men.

Depravity: We Believe that man was created by the direct act of God; that he was made in the image of God; that in his original state he was innocent; that by exercise of his own free will he disobeyed God and, thereby, fell into a state of sin and condemnation; and that his descendants, inheriting a fallen, sinful nature, are under the condemnation of God, and are in need of the new birth via the Holy Spirit.

Salvation: We Believe that salvation is the free and gracious gift of God, and that God has made provision for all men everywhere to be saved; that the atoning death of Christ was sufficient for all, but efficient only for those who choose to believe. We believe that salvation is received upon repentance of sin and personal, saving faith in Christ as Savior and Lord.

Election: We Believe that election is according to the foreknowledge of God and conditioned on personal, saving faith in Christ; thus one becomes the “Elect of God” by virtue of being “in Christ.”

Sanctification: We Believe that every believer is made righteous in Christ at conversion; that this sanctification continues during the Christian life as the believer grows in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ; and that it is completed when the believer stands in the presence of Christ, either at death or at the return of Christ.

Security: We Believe that all who are truly saved are kept by God's power and as believers are secure in Christ based on their personal, continued faith. It is God who does the saving and the keeping, but He does both on the sole condition of faith. We believe a saved individual may, in freedom of will, cease to trust in Christ for salvation and be lost. We believe this is defined in the Scriptures as “aspostasy” and that such is an irremediable condition. We believe salvation is a one-time experience. We do not believe in repeated regeneration.

Church Ordinances: We Believe that God has given His Church the ordinances of Baptism, which is to be administered only to believers, by immersion and in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; and the Lord's Supper, which is to be open to all born-again believers present; and the washing of the Saint's feet.

The Second Coming of Christ: We Believe in a literal, pre-millenial return of Jesus Christ to receive all believers of all ages to Himself and to judge the world with absolute and final justice. We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment.
